Rest assured, it’s better to address those concerns, rather than jump on a bandwagon and then try to explain a bad decision later. Take a look at some of the [key benefits](https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbestechcouncil/2017/05/19/the-benefits-of-moving-to-the-cloud/2/#77cf98da128e) of transitioning your software to the cloud: **It’s good for your bottom line:** The initial investment makes a software transition a big investment that requires a lot of buy-in from executives. A cloud solution, by contrast, allows you to spread out the cost of the software through a monthly subscription fee. There’s no lost productivity in implementation or updates, either, so you’ll see a positive impact on your bottom line. **It’s secure:** This is one of the key topics that comes up when IT professionals or line-of-business managers voice their doubts about cloud solutions. A cloud provider like Amazon Web Services is committed to security best practices. Their data centers are heavily monitored, and access to the physical premises is severely restricted. It’s likely that cloud providers have security that’s superior to any that would protect on-premise software. **You *can* give up control:** One of the biggest hesitations that IT professionals have in choosing a cloud solution is the relinquishing of control of a part of their IT environment. A heightened understanding of the cloud solution and a high level of transparency into how its processes interact with your on-premises software will enable you to get comfortable with giving up a little control. **You get a lot of reliability:** Cloud solutions offer redundancy both in hardware and software that protect your data. Make sure you take advantage of the opportunity to test-drive data migration from your cloud provider and get comfortable with the data retrieval process. Keep in mind, too, that cloud providers make it relatively easy for you to walk away. Most contracts don’t extend beyond a year, and because you have little to no capital investment, your provider is always motivated to make sure your organization is satisfied and that the benefits far outweigh any frustrations. **Integrations save you even more:** Once you’ve implemented your first cloud solution, you’ll experience additional savings along the way. There are cloud solutions that easily integrate with one another, giving you access to applications like customer relationship management, sales pipeline tracking and others.
